Job Description

As IT Infrastructure Manager you will lead the IT Infrastructure team, covering databases, hosting, networking and AD management. You will also will champion a cultural change, advocating the features of cloud computing and breaking down silos within delivery/supportteams to establish and embed Agile working practices.Client DetailsMichael Page Technology have partnered with one of the UKs largest financial services organisations to support them with the recruitment of an IT Infrastructure Manager.DescriptionWhat youll be doing:As IT Infrastructure Manager you will lead the IT Infrastructure team, covering databases, hosting, networking and AD management. You will also will champion a cultural change, advocating the features of cloud computing and breaking down silos within delivery/supportteams to establish and embed Agile working practices.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the low-level Infrastructure Team Operating Model, working with the Technology Management Team to ensure wider Roles & Responsibilities are aligned. This should include a hearts and minds approach to effect the necessary culturalchange as part of our cloud & strategic partner strategies.
  • Responsible for the delivery of infrastructure outcomes into the project portfolio. Ensuring business cases include infrastructure impact and project-aligned SMEs are available to support planning and delivery of all project lifecycle stages.
  • Responsible for Infrastructure operations; including incident, problem and change management for the following:
o Networking (Internet Circuits, Firewalls, LAN, WAN/SD-WAN, Wifi , VPN)o Domain (AD, GPO, SSL, DNS, DHCP)o Hosting (Azure Cloud)o Databases (SQL, Azure SQL PaaS)o Infrastructure Security (Best Practice, Patching, PAM)o Environments & Release Management
  • Responsible for the transition managed services support to outsourced providers
  • Accountable for the timely patching of infrastructure services, in accordance with Cyber Essentials & ISO27001 standards.
  • Responsible for adherence to infrastructure related SLA s/SLOs/KPIs
  • Ownership of service improvement roadmaps, ensuring strategic partners and internal teams ( SRE, DevOps, Platforms, Service Delivery) are aligned to deliver.
  • Continuous development of Infrastructure s self-service catalogue, utilising cloud automation features and Infra-As-Code to shift-liftprovisioning where possible.
  • Working with Service Delivery and other support teams to define modern operational support practices; run book development, 24/7 on-call support, incident response and postmortem processes that make the best use of empowered engineering teams.
  • Define and contribute to strategic departmental objectives
ProfileKey Skills & Experience:
  • Experience of driving transformational change in culture/ways of working within an infrastructure engineering environment (adoption of Agile/DevOps and product-aligned structures)
  • Experience of managing both project and operational change; including estimating resource allocation, status reporting and cost management.
  • Experience in line-management of teams, including performance management and professional development of cloud infrastructure engineers.
  • Strong focus on development and enablement, a leader that looks to remove blockers for their team and connect the right people together to solve problems.
  • Experience in hybrid structures and managing strategic service partners, developing a oneteam mindset.
  • Strong technical experience of the Microsoft/ Azure ecosystem ( Networking/solutions, Monitor, Licencing/Cost Management, IaaS/PaaS services ) and, ideally, Infrastructure as Code (preferably Terraform)
  • Demonstrable technical expertise in Infrastructure Design/Microsoft best practice.
  • Experience in the management of on-call support for production systems, as well as blameless post-mortems, root cause analysis and troubleshooting activity.
Job OfferSalary:£70,000 - £80,000 per annum
