Job Description

Our mission is simple… to help the world Love Mondays.Every week, thousands of people across the UK start a new job – and it’s our job to help them get there.REED is a specialist provider of permanent, contract, temporary and outsourced recruitment solutionsWe require an Income Generation Officer to cover an existing workload within Merseyside Police, based out of Canning Place, Liverpool.This is an interim position initially for 3-6 months with the potential to be extended, dependent on workload.Job Purpose:

  • You will need to be motivated and experienced income generation professionals to help us identify and explore new funding streams and generate income to support the delivery of excellent policing services to the communities of Merseyside.
  • In the post you will be responsible for developing and delivering an income generation strategy and plan for the force, creating, testing and iterating new ways of generating income. You will also invigorate established initiatives like our ground-breaking Stand Tall campaign, raising funds to keep our police horses on Merseyside.
  • Working to the Head of News & Communications you will be an expert in your field. You will work with committed, passionate people, keen to learn and grow sustainable income generation for the future. You will be inventive, resourceful and tenacious and able to demonstrate and explain the benefit of your work to help police officers and staff realise the potential of income generation in policing.
  • The roles will involve collaborative and close working with teams across the force so you will have a natural flair for building relationships, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, strong organisation skills, resourcefulness and a willingness to work flexibly.
  • Capable of working under pressure and to time constraints you will have the ability to create and present proposals in a fluent and persuasive manner to a range of people at all levels.
  • You will be confident managing multiple projects and will use your negotiating and influencing and skills to bring new opportunities to Merseyside Police, regularly networking with individuals and organisations.
    • Skills required to be successful in the post:
  • Recognised qualification in fundraising management (Institute of Fundraising, post graduate certificate).
  • Fundraising experience in charitable or public sector environment demonstrating strong track record of income generation.
  • Experience of donor fundraising and/or corporate sponsorship.
  • Experience of managing programme budgets, target setting and performance monitoring.
  • Project management and coordination experience including a working knowledge of project management methodology.
  • Excellent communication skills including experience of managing communication with a diverse range of stakeholders, the ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
  • A knowledge and understanding of the government’s development agenda in relation to commissioning and grant fundraising.
  • Excellent planning and leadership skills.
