Job Description

Import OperatorLiverpool, City Centre£22,000 - £28,000MondayFriday, 08:30-17:00Im currently recruiting for an Import Operator to join a multi award-winning, international freight forwarding company.They are seeking an Import Operator to join their multi model operation. The Candidate;
  • Experience within a similar Freight Forwarding or Import Operator role
  • Knowledge with Import procedures / processes is essential
  • Experience of using freight forwarding systems
  • Proven experience of rate negotiation with both clients and third parties
  • Strong commercials skills and business acumen are necessary
  • Results driven with a consistent approach with the ability to inspire and motivate
  • Must have a can do attitude
  • Presentable, polite and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Competent decision making
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Process bookings from customer by phone/email
  • Book transport and build relationships with hauliers
  • Handle the coordination of freight (Road, Air or Ocean)
  • Handle all operational aspects of import file management
  • Liaise with third party hauliers for planning any additional capacity
  • Produce a range of freight documentation including DGNs and bills of lading
  • Raising Chamber of Commerce documents
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with internal and external clients
  • Liaise with all relevant parties to ensure that expectations are met during the movement of cargo
