Job Description

Homeless Support worker | £11.00p/h incl. holidayASAP Start | LiverpoolRocasa Consulting are looking to recruit Homeless/ Housing Support Workers within the Liverpool area paying £11.00p/h.You will be:

  • Act as an initial point of reference on the phone, or in a reception area as required.
  • Provide crisis intervention and resolution through assessment, support and advice.
  • Assist in the provision of a comprehensive housing management and support service, including working with tenancy agreements and collecting rents and charges
  • To correspond and liaise as necessary with external agencies on behalf of clients.
  • Recognises signs of distress in clients and identifies ways to reduce this.
  • Carry out day to day office administrative functions to ensure that all records and files are maintained and held securely and that the confidentiality of information is upheld.
  • Assisting clients with day-to-day support and tenancy issues.
  • Help individuals plan and adjust to necessary changes that are required to enable access to accommodation, treatment, health and wider support and care services.
  • Report repairs and maintenance needs behalf of the client following agreed procedures.
  • To clean and prepare rooms as appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Ability to engage meaningfully, listen, build trust and represent the best interests of service users who may display very challenging behaviour. Trauma informed care.
  • Able to motivate, inspire and get the best out of people in a positive atmosphere using motivational interviewing techniques .
  • Able to deliver effective pathways to greater independence including first class resettlement services through effective multi agency working.
  • Able to deliver expert housing, homelessness and welfare rights advice based on a sound understanding of key housing, homelessness and benefits legislation
  • Sound understanding of harm reduction techniques, treatment options and specialist advice and support services
  • Able to deliver advice and advocacy around mental health and to support access into services and psychological therapies.
