Job Description

Head of Production and Warehouse OperationsClose Date: 09 January 2023We are an innovative food supplement manufacturing company located on the outskirts of Liverpool, looking for an ambitious, tenacious and goal driven professional to join our operational production plant and warehouse. We are looking for a relationship builderwho has experience working in FMCG or food supplement manufacturing, who can liaise with all levels of personnel, creating and continuing to create harmonious relationships across all departments within production and warehousing. Reporting directly and indirectlyto the Operations Director and CEO.If you are a strong people leader, experienced working with fast moving goods manufacturing and warehouse operations, are Health & Safety prioritised with Lean Six Sigma, BRCGS, and Quality ISO experience - this is the perfect role for you.In your new role you will be responsible for the management of all production and warehouse processes, machinery, equipment, logistics, stock control, picking stations (B2B and B2C) & all employees, whilst satisfying customer demand - OTIF.Responsibilities

  • Respect and drive safety rules to production and warehouse teams - ensure compliance.
  • Execute business plan objectives and production/warehouse strategy.
  • Continually develop and improve the manufacturing and warehouse processes (resources) to meet customer demand in quality, time and cost required.
  • Foster and develop relationships with internal support functions and external suppliers and service providers.
  • Be a site LEAN champion - continually identify improvement opportunities.
  • Responsible for employee education and competence levels, required to satisfy customer demand.
  • To lead by example and demonstrate effective and positive leadership skills through pro-active involvement, in daily activities. Promote a "Can Do" attitude.
Main Duties
  • Enforce HSE and BRCGS rules as TOP priority
  • Integrate production and warehouse processes that support the overall business strategy, adapted to changing market conditions, new business opportunities, and cost reduction strategies.
  • Continually satisfy customer requirements and delivery expectations (OTIF).
  • Effectively manage production and warehouse teams. Provide know-how and industrial expertise. Challenge existing practices.
  • Implement and organise the necessary resources to ensure the realisation of production plans and warehouse efficiencies. Optimise production/warehouse performance & efficiency (schedule adherence), whilst increasing output.
  • Take responsibility for key KPIs. Standardise production/warehouse KPIs to measure performance - analyse reasons for downtime and eradicate (manual and machine) in order to achieve set targets.
  • Apply defined Quality processes and procedures to achieve correct product quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance to BRCGS ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO18001.
  • Lead change management and social impacts.
  • Be able to influence and convince teams. Increase team cooperation to achieve collective performance.
  • Responsible for employee training and competence levels required to satisfy customer demand. Develop and update training matrices, as required. Coach and mentor all Teams.
  • Recruit new employees both permanent and seasonal temps.
  • Organise regular team meetings and appraisals - set to agreed objectives.
  • Be the site LEAN champion - continually identify improvement opportunities.
  • Implement and improve on LEAN initiatives.
  • Drive change through simulation and visual management.
  • Remove waste (NVA - Non Value Add).
  • Develop and establish 5S process - all production and warehouse areas.
  • Perform regular VSM and Kaizen Blitz to exploit further improvement.
  • Define annual production and warehouse strategy and align to business plans.
