Head of PMO (FTTP)Location - Liverpool with National Remit and Flexible for some work from home. Package around £500 per day6 month contract initially. This is a new role that will be aimed with building a National PMO function for for a well funded rapid growth owner of FTTP networks in the UK.They are looking to really expand the FTTP footprint and need to bring in a head of PMO to support the fibre network side of the business. FTTP background would be ideal but happy to consider solid telecoms network deployment PMO experience as a starting point. This is a great chance to be in the business from the early days. and play your part in what the PMO model looks like. Youll build the team that supports the delivery of the build plans and also provides administration and co-ordination of a range of servicesrequired by the FTTP delivery teams.Key tasks:Youll be responsible for reporting progress, risks and Issues to a C level, so from the beginning the Head of PMO will build the project management processes and tools to ensure that all network expansion projects are planned, initiated, monitored and closedin a controlled way, with progress tracked at every step. Due to the national nature of the projects, this accurate foundation and ability to rely on the data is crucial so a huge emphasis is being placed the reporting and associated process. Its telecoms specific, so your PMO (Once built) will be responsible for the management of Openreach PIA processes, Local Authority Permits and Noticing requirements, Wayleaves administration and EAD/backhaul order management. In addition, youll manage the relationship with design and build contractors to deliver Network Detailed Designs and Packs to support timely execution of the build process and the network deployment programme. Youll review and approve Design/Build Contractorproposals in line with programme timelines & contractual obligationsYour backgroundThe reality is you need to be from that telecoms network build environment and while FTTP would be ideal, we have success in the right people moving across to fibre build from mobile network roll out, so happy to talk with people from that sector. You dontneed to be a technical expert but would certainly have a high level understanding of network construction and the associated areas, so planning, design, build, installations and operations.Youll also need to be strong when it comes to NEC contracts.Do we need someone that has built a PMO from scratch Not strictly, but certainly someone who would use experience to embrace that challenge and aim to build a best in class telecoms PMO. Bring the best part of what you know, and avoid the frustrating partsof what you have seen and done in previous companies - that should be a big attraction for a role like this, in that you get the chance to put in place an efficient and scalable model without the red tape and frustrations linked to some of the PMOs alreadyin place in the industry. Its an initial 6 months but your role will be the set the foundation that others can follow in the future.
