Job Description

We are working on a very exciting opportunity to recruit a Financial Services Operations Manager to join a successful investment firm in Liverpool.Client DetailsThis firm is one of the UKs top investment management firms and has a great reputation, on an international scale. The organisation promotes an inclusive culture, investing in employees development and progression, and will offer the successful candidatea truly great place to work.DescriptionThe Financial Services Operations Manager will play a important role within the operations function. It deals with all aspects of incoming and outgoing money and will be responsible for leading a large team and to drive the function forward through excellentmanagement and leadership skills and working on projects to improve performance of the operation. Day to day, the role involves:

  • Managing the team ensuring all CASS regulatory requirements are met
  • Responsibility for administration of agents and IFA, arranging payments and statements
  • Maintaining static data
  • Managing all aspects of ISA subscriptions, APS, and flexible ISA withdrawals
  • Administering deceased accounts and leavers
  • Cash management - all aspects of money coming in and out
  • Monitoring client cash coming both electronically and by cheque as well as monitoring all aspects of contract functionality
  • Daily banking
  • Processing payments and journals via cash management system
  • Managing and controlling input of correct data to ensure all processes are up to date and correct
  • Ensuring all queries are actioned effectively
From a leadership perspective you will be required to:
  • Motivate the team to hit SLAs and promote a high level of expected performance
  • Contribute to improving controls and processes
  • Evolve the department through insight of current processes and ways of improving functions within current or new technologies
  • Promote continuous improvement and delivery of operational change and transformation
  • Produce quality MI reports on daily/weekly and monthly basis

  • Strong people management skills - able to supervise a large team, lead from the front and drive teams forward
  • Strong motivational skills with the ability to inspire people as well yourself
  • Excellent relationships building skills with those internal and external to the business
  • Excellent attention to detail and well organised
  • Proactive in approach to developing processes
  • Project management experience is highly desirable
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Proficiency in working with complex quantitative and qualitative data and ability to use this to improve processes
  • Knowledge of financial services is advantageous
