We are looking to hire a Finance Analyst to come and join us on a permanent basis at our Head office in Liverpool. Within this role you willhave a blended mix of office-based working from our Liverpool Head Office and home-based working. This is an excellent opportunity within a large organisation to play a key role within Yodels Finance Team. You will be playing a key role ensuring delivery of financial performance contributing to Yodels Fit for The Future strategic plan. This role willbe impactful across the business and will have a good mix of routine reporting/analysis and development work. What youll be doing Reporting into the Head of Finance (Commercial Planning). The successful candidate will be the key support in providing a high-quality business analysis and reporting service to assist in understanding financial performance and key trends. This will encompassperiodic management reporting, planning, and forecasting, budgeting involvement and ad-hoc analysis. Within this role you will learn Machine Learning skills using our Microsoft Azure platform.In addition to these duties, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Reporting keeping our stakeholders across the business updated on business performance using our in-house reporting system. This includes weekly detailed reporting, in week reforecast modelling and analysis, sales performance and adapting and developingour reporting system to bring further insight to our stakeholders. There will be opportunities to develop new reports and insight using tools like Tableau Server.
  • Analysis providing analysis of our client portfolio using advanced Excel skills and creating commercial insight for our commercial and operational teams to act on. Using your experience of turning data into insight, you will draw out the themes from ourdata around trends and developments and feed this knowledge into our forecasting and budgeting processes.
  • Forecasting supporting our automated machine learning system to aid the production of our tactical and strategic forecasts. Training is available for Microsoft Azure. This involves monitoring our forecasting pipelines and requesting retuning of models.
  • Ad hoc analysis supporting our internal customers by responding to their requests for decision support, insight and sharing information
  • Events creating insight from our data to support our events planning process. Bank holidays, Flowers, and other annual events
What you need to show us You will be a passionate and driven individual looking to develop their skills within a large organisation. You will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
  • Technical degree or qualified by experience in analytical and reporting work
  • Finance qualification like CIMA or part qualified or strong technical experience
  • Working with large datasets, being able to extract themes/insight and communicate succinctly in reports and within our team
  • Developing new reports in Excel and other systems to extract information from data
  • Taking business requests and turning into data extraction, analysis, understanding themes and insights and presenting succinctly
  • Good working knowledge of VBA desirable, Tableau, Excel, Python, SQL, Teradata would be desirable
  • Prior experience of ML platforms, and/or a willingness to learn, would be desirable, as would experience with applied statistics
  • VBA intermediate skills to enhance our in-house reporting system
  • Experience in Forecasting
