Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic business that has a clear product focus and market offering. Our client is currently looking for a Field Service Engineer to join their team in the North West and be responsible for delivering on-site support,from installations to maintenance across their diagnostic ophthalmology product portfolio.The companyOur client is renowned for implementing the latest optical technologies into their specialist portfolio. Their products are used in the early detection, management and effective treatment of disorders and diseases affecting the retina such as retinal detachmentsand tears, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. With their 30 years of experience, our client is proud to be recognised as a leading provider of devices to eye care professionals.The roleIn the role of Field Service Engineer, you will provide first-class support for our clients customer base. You will be responsible for delivering services such as installation, breakdown repair, maintenance, and training on a wide range of product instrumentation.Other responsibilities include:

  • Documenting job performance in CRM systems
  • Planning installation of new customer sites with the customer focus team
  • Performing installation, repairs, and preventative maintenance of products
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Supporting customers on all operational aspects of the equipment
  • Completing regulatory and company required documentation in a timely manner
  • Contributing to regular Regional Service meetings
  • Providing remote diagnosis and repair support when needed
  • Delivering onsite support for the clients product range
  • Relaying field repetitive failure issues to the line manager
  • Ensuring all repair parts are on-site when needed
The requirementsYou will have technical experience within the Medical Device Industry, as well as:
  • HND in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Electronic)
  • Previous clinical, field service and commercial experience
  • Knowledge and practical experience of Basic Wired and Wireless Network Integration
  • Basic knowledge of the Anatomy & Physiology of the eye
  • Able to produce high-quality work under pressure and within tight timescales
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong computer literacy skills (including Microsoft Office suite)
  • Good organisational and presentation skills
  • Strong communication skills with various audiences (both written and verbal)
  • Strong team-working ability
  • Full, clean UK driving license (travel required)
