Job Description

Freightserve recruitment are looking for an experienced Export Oceanfreight Manager for a major Freight Forwarder based in the Liverpool area.-The Ocean Export Manager is responsible for ensuring SLA’s are met for all work that comes in from the Customer Care Locations (CCL’s). You’ll be responsible for the direct line management of a team of approximately 12 colleagues and for allocating the daily workload to ensure that all tasks are carried out and you will act as the escalation point for any issues, disputes or queries.Responsibilities:-

  • To manage and lead the Operational Care Centre (OCC) Export team ensuring high levels of productivity and efficiency within the team.
  • To ensure operational excellence through high-quality shipment management and daily monitoring of DQM to ensure all tasks are executed.
  • To actively manage interfaces and information / knowledge exchange.
  • Contribute as the process owner to continuous improvements of both processes and controls to facilitate lean and cost-efficient processes.
  • Actively review of operational procedures, identifying opportunities for improvement, and promoting an approach of continuous improvement within the team
  • Monitoring of monthly SeafreightKPI’s to ensure the agreed service level is maintained and where necessary corrective actions are implemented.
  • To assist with customer onboarding and issue resolution.
  • Adherence to Credit Control Guidelines & QSHE Directives.
    • Your skills and experience:-
  • High level of knowledge of freight forwarding, operations and regulations as well as knowledge of Sea Logistics products, services, systems and processes. Good knowledge of the UK Sea Logistics is key.
  • A good level of IT literacy, Microsoft Office is a must.
  • People management experience, able to motivate, monitor and support your team whilst being a good team player too. You’ll create an environment of continuous improvement with a drive for operational excellence.
  • Ability to present and communicate effectively, a great collaborator and with strong interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Excellent organisational time management and delegation skills, able to work under pressure whilst maintaining your composure.
  • Strong understanding of Companys operational and financial processes with sound commercial acumen
  • Experience of working towards targets with great attention to detail.
  • A positive mindset and adaptable to change.
