Downstream Process Scientist6-month contractAttractive Salary plus benefitsThe CompanyA reputable biopharmaceutical company focused on discovering, developing, and commercialising innovative healthcare products for a range of therapeutic areas, they have state of the art laboratories with scientists working on innovative treatments.The OpportunityBased in Liverpool on-site at a growing organisation, this is an opportunity to join a thriving biopharmaceutical company as a process scientist focussing on downstream biologics purification.As an experienced member of the Process Sciences team, you will demonstrate strong organisations skills, ability to solve complex problems and flexible attitude to work, performing a wide range of activities in downstream biologics to GMP standards. Working on new gene therapy projects, activities will include working on purification of bulk drug substances expressed from mammalian, viral or microbial expression systems using techniques such as ion chromatography, size exclusion, affinity chromatography.As an experienced Scientist, you will take specific responsibilities for leading activities within the group, including:· Leading the design, delivery and reporting of experimental work· Preparation and execution of operating procedures, manufacturing proformas and validation protocols· Training others in procedures or equipment· Identifying and delivering ideas to enhance capabilities of process sciences· Supporting Senior Scientists or project leads on the delivery of workAll work will be to GMP standards and you will use tools such as 5s as a means of continuous improvement. You’ll ensure compliance analysing any investigation data from deviations, raising and closing out CAPAs.About YouTo apply for this role you should demonstrate:· Relevant experience in a GMP environment· Downstream processing, Akter pilots and protein experience required.· Industrial experience in product purification by chromatography techniques such as ion chromatography, size exclusion chromatography or affinity chromatography.· A minimum of relevant BSc or PhD is more desirableApply Today!
