Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Development Chemist for a leading materials manufacturer to work within their R&D and Technical Services team at their site in Liverpool. As a Development Chemist, you will take on various product development and improvement projects as part of the R&D team, raw materials analysis and selection and providing technical and quality support to manufacturing and quality functions.To be considered for this Development Chemist you will be degree educated in Chemistry or closely related subject. This role is open to straight Chemistry graduates, however we are also looking at those with previous industrial experience spent within polymer/materials development.Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute various development projects within the R&D team.
  • Responsible for the analysis and approval of new raw materials.
  • Development of formulations matched against market standards.
  • Support manufacturing and quality functions with expert technical support.
  • Supervise plant trials on new product developments.
  • Knowledge and Experience
  • At least BSc educated in Chemistry.
  • Ideally with previous industrial experience working with R&D on the formulation of adhesives, coatings or polymeric materials.
  • Strong communications skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
