Job Description

Oakleaf currently have a fantastic opportunity for an innovative and enthusiastic clinical psychologist looking for a new challenge within a psychologically led service. This is an exciting opportunity to develop psychological services to meet the needs of adults living with mental ill health, dementia and other neurological conditions at our new service in Speke.We are looking for a clinical psychologist who is an autonomous professional, leader and team player who can bring their experience and expertise to bear on challenging neuropsychological and mental health issues and to help the team support service users to reach their full potential.You will work with a dynamic multi-professional team leading development of individual formulations and psychological assessment. With the support of an Assistant Psychologist, you will support the development and delivery of behavioural and other psychological interventions for service users and provide appropriately distilled psychologically informed guidance to aid recovery and independence.The successful candidate will work closely with the hospital director in considering new referrals and discharges and be responsible for professional psychological practice and quality to ensure excellence in patient experience and outcomes. You will be a confident teacher who is keen to help develop others. You will understand the dynamics of working in both hospital and care environments and be able to help offer containment and support to those who need it within a culture of compassion. You will provide leadership to the MDT and contribute to the development of services.To support this post, regular clinical and professional supervision will be provided by an experienced registered Clinical psychologist. You will be encouraged and supported to develop your professional skills, to carry out service evaluation / research and to publish your work where appropriate.The Service:Estuary House will provide specialist treatment and care for people living with mental ill health, dementia and other neurological conditions.We are one of the UK’s leading independent providers of specialist mental health hospital services for adults and Nursing care.ExperienceWe would like our post holder to have experience in a senior role, working with clients with complex needs that are relevant to the population in the service area. You must have experience of developing and delivering formulation led care and be competent in a range of therapeutic delivery. Post doctorate psychological training is desirable, but an enthusiasm for the work and population is just as important and we will consider supporting training and development in neuropsychology for the right candidate.Our post holder must have experience of delivering supervision, running reflective practice groups and understand the importance of a compassion focused model underpinning services. You will have effective consultancy skills and able to manage clinical/organisational projects; and have competence in line management responsibilities and service-related standards including clinical governance. Most of all you will have an enthusiasm for this work, for leading a service psychologically and supporting active rehabilitation to improve individual’s lives.Please contact us for an informal discussion about the role.Part-time hours: 24-40 per week
