Job Description

Job Purpose Merseyside Community Rehabilitation Company (CRC) is looking to recruit a part time Case Coordinator to join the Wirral Probation Office. The work is challenging and yet hugely rewarding as you contribute towards changing people’s lives, collaborate with partner organisations and promote safer communities. As a Case Coordinator, you will work alongside Senior Case Managers and Case Managers who play a key role in helping to monitor service users attending Probation. The Case Coordinator role includes a comprehensive admin function and responsibilities include data inputting, performance monitoring, dealing with correspondence and telephone calls, maintaining case records, and updating and monitoring various electronic systems. You will also be expected to cover reception duties from time to time.Responsibilities

  • Update and track CRC performance data, report on gaps in data and highlight issues that could impact on CRC performance
  • Provide administrative support to Senior/Case Managers including generating letters for service users, filing reports, oversee officer diary management and completion of 1-1 weekly meetings with Senior/Case Managers within the team.
  • Maintain accuracy of service user case management system
  • Liaise and process referrals with partner agencies including Police, local drug agencies, safeguarding boards to obtain data, reports or information needed by front line staff
  • Occasional engagement with service users, via telephone, where service users are attending structured interventions to remove barriers to sustained rehabilitation
  • Undertake administrative activities to support the Interchange Manager with the smooth running of the team/office
  • Attend team meetings
  • Undertake telephone/reception duties
  • Alert relevant colleagues should any risk be identified in relation to promoting the welfare of children and adults
  • Perform other duties commensurate with the post as from time to time may be determined by the line manager, or the business unit.
  • Operational Planning and Management
  • Act as an enabler for Senior/ Case Managers, providing administrative support and case co-ordination, supporting service delivery
  • Plan and prioritise own workload, to ensure self and team objectives, deadlines and targets
  • Appropriate attention to detail and ensure tasks are correctly handled and followed through
  • React quickly, demonstrate a flexible approach to your work and respond appropriately to changes in plans and work schedules
  • Work flexible hours within the remit of personal contracts or agreed variations, subject to exigencies of the service
  • Finance and Commercial
  • Provide administrative support to Interchange Manager to manage devolved budgets, e.g., track petty cash, rail warrants, Service User bus tokens

  • Where relevant, use recognised incident reporting processes to escalate risks, as stated in the H&S policy and arrangements
  • Knowledge, Skills and Experience Professional Qualifications, Education and Training
  • GCSEs including English and Maths (C or above) or equivalent (E)
  • Commitment to undertake VQ3 Diploma in Probation Practice or equivalent (D)
  • Relevant Experience
  • Ability to enforce standards and procedures (E)
  • Working/volunteering in the Criminal Justice System (D)
  • Working with individuals with challenging behaviour (D)
  • Relevant Knowledge
