We have an opportunity available for a Care and Support Worker to join us based in Liverpool. The role is a full, time permanentposition and in return, we are offering a competitive rate of £8.72 - £9.50 per hour depending on your qualifications and complexity of the role.L’Arche is an expanding, vibrant community charity which supports people with Learning Disabilities. You must also be available for training.Key duties and responsibilities of our Care and Support Worker:- Personal care and support of people with learning disabilities:- Supporting individuals in their leisure, social, practical, physical and spiritual needs.- Helping people with physical needs may include some aspects of moving and handling,- Ensuring the development of individuals ability to make choices and enabling them to increase their independence- Developing relationships, assisting in celebrations and supporting the spiritual life so that there is an atmosphere of welcome and friendship. The growth in new friendships will respect the professional responsibilities of support, which assistants carry.- support people in Employment and Education / Volunteering opportunities as appropriate and in accordance with the professional boundaries of support.- Attending and participating in team meetings, and any other meetings as requested including Supervision and Appraisals.- communicate clearly with families, visitors and other professionalsWhat we are looking for in our ideal Care and Support Worker: - Ability to relate well to people and to work well in a team- Will respect privacy, dignity and independence and rights of people with learning disabilities- Able to gain the confidence and trust of people with learning disabilities- Good verbal and written Communication skills (GCSE Equivalent)- Good IT skills (GCSE Equivalent)If you would like to help facilitate and enable household members in creating a home and enabling them to maximise their independence, then we would like to hear from you.
