Job Description

Bookkeeper/Finance OfficerMy client is a Construction and Property Development/Maintenance company requiring a Bookkeeper/Finance Officer to work part time, 25 hours per week (9.30 am - 2.30 pm per day).They hope to increase this to full-time over the coming months. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for the entire company bookkeeping function as detailed below. The Bookkeeper must be proficient in Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Payroll.The Bookkeeper must have payroll experience and sound knowledge of the NEST pension scheme. CIS experience is essential.Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Full Sales Ledger
  • Full Purchase Ledger
  • Matching and batching supplier invoices with POs
  • Prepare supplier invoices for signing off by MD
  • Supplier statement reconciliation
  • Preparing supplier payments
  • Bank postings
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Sage 50 payroll processing
  • Nest Pension processing
  • CIS recording and submitting to HMRC
  • Quarterly VAT Returns to HMRC
  • Wage Journals
  • Adhoc Journals
  • Monthly and adhoc reports as per MDs request
  • Contact with company Accountants as and when required
  • Preparing accounts up to Trial Balance for hand over to Accountant at year-end
  • Staff holiday/sickness record keeping
  • General admin
  • Answering and fielding calls
  • Filtering emails
  • Any other duties as requested by the MD.
