Job Description

Are you looking for an interesting and engaging opportunityAre you anexperienced Chemist looking to progress your careerThis is a fantastic opportunity to join a leading waste to resource management company in Liverpool. A market leader and experts in handling hazardous and liquid waste, they are driven by sustainability,over 80% of waste received is either recycled or recovered.They pride themselves in offering industry-leading response times for their services and turning waste into energy, through innovative and sustainable solutions.Theyre looking to add an eager and enthusiastic individual to join their Team asAssistant site chemist to assist with day-to-day management of facility. The role will be hands-on. Duties:

  • Ensuring full compliance with the site permits
  • Waste acceptance and compliance with pre-acceptance
  • Organisation of site operators
  • Liaising with Senior Chemist and Process Chemist to ensure sufficient staffing cover across all areas of the site
  • Stock control and maintenance below permit limits  Compliance with HSE segregation guidelines
  • Assessment, organisation, and upkeep of staff training requirements including new starter inductions and training programs are organised and adhered to
  • Responsibility for contractor inductions and permit-to-work implementation
  • Liaising with site management to best implement day-to-day work requirements
Essential:
  • Hazardous Waste Experience
  • HNC in Chemistry or higher (Related Subjects e.g. Biology or Forensics will be considered where sufficient Chemistry modules were included)
Desirable:
  • Experience in the Hazardous Waste Management Sector
  • WAMITAB COTC
  • FLT License
  • IOSH/ NEBOSH safety qualification or similar
  • Experience of directly interfacing with a client
