Job Description

An Assistant Accountant is needed to efficiently manage financial tasks and contribute to the overall financial performance of a thriving FMCG company based in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be proficient in managing accounts, tax matters, andfinancial records.Client DetailsOur client is an established player in the FMCG sector. With a remarkable workforce of over 500, they consistently deliver high-quality consumer goods to a wide customer base. Their headquarters are based in Liverpool, and they have a strong commitment toinnovation and excellent customer service.DescriptionThe Assistant Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations including invoicing, payments, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements and reports.
  • Participate in financial audits and work with external auditors.
  • Perform tax computations and prepare tax returns in compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to improve financial procedures.
  • Handle confidential information in a professional and discreet manner.
  • Support budgeting and bookkeeping procedures.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files.
ProfileA successful Assistant Accountant should have:
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel, and knowledge of accounting software.
  • A solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable/receivable principles.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex numerical data.
