Job Description

Area Sales Manager - Roof WindowsJob Title: Business Development Manager - Roof WindowsIndustry Sector: Roof windows, loft ladders, roof access, loft ladders, roofing membrane, Building Envelope, Building Products, Contractors, Housebuilders, Developers, National and Independent MerchantsArea to be covered: North West & North WalesRemuneration: £38,000 + £7,000 Commission (Paid Monthly)Benefits: Fully Expensed Company Hybrid Car, Phone, Laptop, PensionThe role of the Area Sales Manager Roof Windows will involve:

  • Field sales role selling comprehensive range of manufactured roof windows, roof access systems, loft ladders and associated products
  • 70% of your time generating business via developers, contractors, national and regional housebuilders
  • 25% of your time generating specifications with architects
  • Remaining 5% of your time managing relationships with independent and national merchants whom products will be backsold through
  • Dealing with order values typically ranging from £2,000 - £20,000
  • Taking over a territory currently slightly down on budget expectation with a turnover of circa £500,000 per annum
  • 30:70 mix between managing and expanding existing accounts alongside generating new business in a successful area currently on target
  • Mix of selling direct and via builders merchant channel
  • Updating the companies CRM system
The ideal applicant will be a Sales Manager Roof Windows experience with:
  • Proven track record in field sales with building products
  • Ideally sold products related to related roof windows such as: roof tiles, roofing membranes, waterproofing, roof lights, suntubes, roof hatches and roof insulation
  • Demonstrable track record of selling to developers, architects or national and regional housebuilders
  • Open to manufacturer or builder merchant field sales backgrounds
  • Ideally some experience of back-selling products via builders merchants
  • Track record of both managing/ expanding existing business and generating new relationships
  • Technically capable and comfortable dealing with all levels of clients
  • Hungry, driven, tenacious
  • Organised and well presented
  • Hard worker and comfortable with working both autonomously and as part of a team
