Job Description

The role is a senior Android developer to join the mobile app team, expecting to mirror the lead IOS development. This project will be more freelance work across a full year.Client DetailsThe client is leading university based near Liverpool they have an award winning IT services Department.DescriptionThe Key responsibilities for the android developer are:

  • Follow the IOS lead in developing a number of apps such as timetables student apps.
  • Manage the full-stack development for Android apps including low-level libraries, frameworks, programming apps for Android (phones, tablets, and watches) using Java and Kotlin, 1st and 3rd party web service integration, app and database maintenance includingmonitoring performance, crashes, bugs, and usability.
  • Manage the deployment and release of Android apps to the Google Play Store, including managing users and roles, managing development and distribution profiles, adding app information and metadata, uploading app previews and screen shots, uploading appsthrough Application Loader, analysis of crash reports, distribution of test apps, managing Beta testing.
  • Lead on the design and implementation process for all mobile apps, including UI design input, UX development and HTML/CSS for associated web services.
ProfileThe successful Android Developer will have:
  • Experience delivering high quality Android mobile applications using Kotliin.
  • Experience integrating apps with web services, and other external data sources (.json/xml etc)
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) web content, one-to-one and group presentations.
  • Experience of cross-browser and cross-platform testing.
  • Experience with App launches
