Job Description

Accountant - ACCA, CIMA, ACA Qualified / Liverpool Centre / Excellent Salary + Excellent Benefits / Stand Alone Position / Retail Sector Experience DesirableNC Associates are working with an SME retail business to recruit an experienced Accountant to work closely with the MD of the business as well as the PE backed investors to support them with all financial matters within the business. As an Accountant you will be involved in all financial matters with the business from transnational to year end accounts as well as reporting on a weekly / monthly basis. This role is extremely commercial and requires someone who can work within a standalone position.DutiesWeekly

  • Produce a weekly trading pack for the management team
  • Provide insight on sales against forecasts, margin analysis, brand and product sell through analysis
  • Provide weekly trade report to management (daily figures)
  • Run the weekly and monthly payroll
  • Produce weekly payroll targets linked to forecasted sales to help the business plan the right staffing levels
  • Manage weekly cashflow
  • Bank reconciliations
    • Monthly and Quarterly
  • Produce monthly management accounts with variance analysis on all areas of the P&L and Balance Sheet
  • Challenge and seek opportunities for cost savings e.g. through working with management PEE (purchasing, energy and environment) - cardboard recycling, group energy rates, etc.
  • Provide detailed reporting and analysis around areas such as headcount, time allocations to processes, etc. for performance benchmarking
  • Produce rolling forecasts to keep management up to date on latest view on full year outturn
  • Manage long term cashflow through seasonal peaks and lows
  • Complete monthly information pack for investors reporting
  • Complete quarterly VAT returns and ensure VAT processes are robust and kept up to date with latest rules
    • Essential Experience RequiredTo be successful in your application for this role you MUST have the following experience
  • ACCA, ACA, CIMA Qualified Accountant
  • Retail sector experience within Finance Desirable
  • Stock experience
  • Strong reporting experience
  • Strong excel skills
  • Commercial experience within a similar role
