Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join us as a Water Treatment Managerbased at our Littlehempston Water Treatment Works site. Joining us on a full time, permanent basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £32,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience.South West Water is part of Pennon Group, a successful and stable business which prides itself on sustainability. In return, we offer an excellent range of benefits which include: free car parking at the majority of our sites, company Sharesave Scheme, childcare support, and various health benefits.About the role: As our Water Treatment Manager, you will provide operational management of water resources, water treatment works and sludge treatment/recycling assets. You will ensure workforce development and competence is maintained, as well as ensuring ODI Performance targets are achieved by supplying our customers with a high-quality product in a sustainable manner that meets both internal and external customer service standards.Responsibilities as our Water Treatment Managerwill include: - Ensuring that compliance with the water quality standard ODI is achieved- Ensuring the Taste, Odour and Discoloured Water contact/1000 population ODI target is achieved- Managing area resources and Treatment Team to optimise asset performance and promote investment submissions to deliver asset improvements- Ensuring budgets are delivered with investigation and recommendations- Ensuring that the Quality Management System is effectively maintained for the Drinking Water Services function- Ensuring the DWS team and partner/contractors manage the installation of all apparatus in accordance with Company standards- Liaising with the Central Energy team and DWS Process Engineer to ensure energy efficiency and carbon reduction targets are delivered locally- Ensuring all operational activities associated with reservoir safety and surveillance are completed to comply with the Reservoir Act 1975- Ensuring Drinking Water Services activities and those of the partner organisations have no adverse impact on the environment- Ensuring effective liaison with Central Procurement, with regard to pricing and performance of suppliersWhat we are looking for in our Water Treatment Manager:- Degree/HND in a relevant subject with experience in the Water Industry. Degree preferred- Proven experience in a relevant role from an operating environment/industry- Proven ability of managing a team, or supervisory experience, and proven leadership ability- Proven ability in decision making, and planning and managing work in deploying resource effectively- The ability to present complicated information in a concise and understandable manner- Proven ability to effectively use computer and corporate systems- Someone who can assume personal responsibility for achieving required results, and produce a high level of high-quality work- Someone who works effectively with little guidance or supervision- Full UK Driver’s License- An effective collaborator who builds and maintains cooperative working relationships- The ability to cope with a high workloadClosing date: 15th December2020If you are looking for a new challenge, please click apply now to be considered as our Water Treatment Manager– we look forward to receiving your application.
