Job Description

Based Littleborough - Greater Manchester9 - 10 months maternity coverWorking as a Senior Support Worker within the short breaks service, supporting adults and young people with learning disabilities, complex needs who attend the service for short term / respite cover. Working closely with the Team Leader, managing a staffteam to offer a flexible, high quality, person centred service, which will enable people to live in the community in accordance with their own lifestyle and with independence, safety and respect.If you want to be part of a successful, growing, values driven company, apply now and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss the vacancy on a confidential basis.Vacancy Details for Senior Support Worker:Responsible for the day to day management of a small respite / short break service in Littleborough, overseeing a staff team of approximately 12 Personal Assistants and Support Officers, working under the direction of the Team Leader and Service Co-ordinator- you will be involved with:

  • Rota management
  • Planning of activities in line with person centred plans
  • Develop and maintain a professional and supportive relationship with service users and their families
  • Facilitate, implement and monitor person centred plans, supporting service users in maximising independence and individual potential
  • Conduct regular professional supervisions and appraisal with support staff
  • Chair regular team meetings
  • Ensure all staff are up to date with mandatory training
  • Particate in providing on call for all service areas
Often notice for respite cover can be arranged at short notice, therefore, staff need to be able to react quickly to potential changes. This is a fast paced environment and no 2 days are the same - therefore, we are looking for a Senior Support Worker whois proactive and can think on their feet.Hours of work for Senior Support Worker:37 hours a week - with flexibility to meet the needs of the business.Evenings will be required to provide on call on a rota basis, which you will be paid extra for.Rewards for Senior Support Worker:
  • Starting salary of £23,247
  • 4% contributory pension scheme - the company pay up to an additional 4% of your salary into a pension plan for you, which will grow every year until you retire.
  • Additional payment for on call hours
