Were looking for Experienced Sewing Machinists to join our Lichfield factory to manufacture Cushions.The basic hourly rate is £8.91 per hour but we have an un-capped bonus system which rewards the fastest machinists where you can earn an additional amount equivalent to £1-2 per hour (£2-4K p/annum).Overtime isnt guaranteed but is regularly available and paid at a premium rate.Work hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Friday, with 30 minutes un-paid lunch break. Two paid 15 minute tea breaks morning and afternoon are also provided.General requirements of a sewing machinist are as followsUnderstanding of the different types of fabric and their characteristics.Understanding of the manufacture of the different product ranges and the components used.Knowledge and understanding of company quality requirements.Basic understanding of the various sewing machines and how to adjust the settings. i.e. thread tension settings and stitch size adjustment.Basic understanding of how to replace worn consumable parts on the sewing machines i.e. changing foot and broken / worn needles.Experience of using foot pedal operated machines.
