Job Description

At AX, we are looking for a Junior Software Developer to join the Innovation side of our business where we develop and deployIntelligent Software and Devices for Vehicle Management - a highly progressive part of our business operations. Focused on digitaldevelopment to meet the needs of our partners and customers, AX Innovation combines intelligent software, with in-car devices and human expertise to help you Manage, Connect and Protect your vehicles.Formerly DCM, ICC and part of APU, our service portfoliocombines the best diary booking system for fleet, demonstrator and courtesy cars with in-car cameras, telemetry and tracking devices, so you can manage every aspect of your vehicles.Role descriptionAs a Junior Software Developer, you will be part of a highly skilled team developing innovative IOT solutions as we transition our computing platform to the latest cloud technologies in order to support a rapidly growing fleet of electric vehicles as the businessstrives to promote sustainability within its fleet. Your key accountabilities will include:

  • Learn the codebase and improve your development skills
  • Follow the teams coding standards and development principles
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to design and develop innovative solutions
  • Maintain and support existing applications
  • Work within a fast paced agile environment
  • Invest in your knowledge portfolio to gain Microsoft certification in the latest web or Azure technologies to maintain our partner status. We are happy to give our staff time to study and to pay for the exams and training materials.
  • Proactively recommend improvements to existing software solutions
What you need to be a Junior Software Developerat AX:A keen interest in learning and working with the latest technologies in dynamic environment with high volume event driven architecture to develop resilient and scalable solutionsExperience With:
  • Basic programming experience with C#
  • Microsoft Azure (desirable)
  • Understanding of git and SCM
  • Any Asynchronous Messaging infrastructure (desirable)
  • Any JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React
  • Knowledge of databases and SQL
