Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Home Care Worker / Care Assistant to join our team.Job Title: Care Assistant / Support Worker/ Care WorkerLocation: Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS14 9UYSalary: £10£12.30 per hour + Benefits (£12.30 on weekends and bank holidays)Reporting to: Registered ManagerAbout Us:Our company is a small, local domiciliary care agency in the Lichfield area. We provide care to people in their own homes.Purpose:To be part of a team of staff to meet the personal care and practical needs of clients in a way that respects the dignity of the individual, whilst promoting their independence. This role will include all care that the client would reasonably expect frommembers of their own family but will not include any tasks of nursing care.Principle responsibilities

  • Assistance with personal care needs such as bathing, dressing, and toileting
  • Assistance or administration of medication
  • To provide companionship and accompany clients to appointment or on outings such as shopping trips or day trips.
  • Meal preparation
  • Housework and laundry duties
Home Support Workers should possess the following attributes:Essential characteristics:
  • Reliable
  • Trustworthy
  • Comfortable working with older people
  • Good communication skills
  • Willing to travel around the Lichfield and surrounding villages area - must be a driver and have a vehicle for work purposes
Desirable characteristics:
  • Working in care sector
  • QCF2 in Health & Social Care (achieved/working towards)
Benefits:
  • Christmas Day and New Years Day are paid at £20 per hour.
  • we pay our training, waiting time and travel time at the rate of 16p per minute.
  • Home Care Workers will be reimbursed for petrol (at 25p per mile) or other reasonable travelling expenses incurred as a result of travelling on authorised company business.
  • Travel time from client to client is also paid at a rate of 16p per minute which equates to £9.60 per hour. Both mileage and travel time are calculated automatically using the CarePlanner software that Kind Hearts Care & Support Ltd use as a rostering system.
  • Annual leave entitlement is 5.6 times your usual working week (this figure can include bank and public holidays).
  • Ongoing training will be provided and supplementary courses will be tailored to the needs of your clients and you as a carer.
Pre-employment medical clearanceAll appointments are subject to pre-employment medical clearance and this will be arranged as soon as possible after an offer of appointment has been made.DBS / POVA checksIt is a requirement of employment that you should have a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure and a POVA check. This will be paid for by Kind Hearts Care & Support Ltd, however, if you leave the company within 3 months of the contract starting date the fullcost of the disclosure (£52.20) must be repaid.
