Job Description

Adecco Recruitment are currently recruiting for on behalf of our client,a HGV Driver (Class 1) for a successful and growing business based in Leyland.Permanent/Full Time -working 45 hours per week on a Monday - Friday day shift, with enhanced Saturday rate overtime on a rota basis.Salary £32,500 + Enhanced overtime rates (time and a half Monday - Saturday after 45 hours, double time on Sundays and Bank Holidays)28 days holiday including bank holidaysThe company operates across three sites in the North West, two in Leyland and one in Thornton. Where possible you will be able to work from a site closer to your home, however it may be necessary on some occasions for you to travel to the other sites ifrequired.Job Summary:Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive any vehicle which you have been trained on to a competent level whilst maintaining contact with the operations department
  • Report any defects in line with the vehicle defect policy
  • Complete daily paperwork and submit to the Operations department for processing
  • Ensure that all routes between facilities are adhered to accurately.
  • Maintain cleanliness of uniform/PPE in addition to the vehicle that you are operating
Person Specification:Essential role specific skills to include
  • Full LGV C+E (Class 1) Licence
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card
  • Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
  • Relevant haulage experience and thorough understanding of LGV vehicles and how they operate
Desirable role specific skills to include
  • Experience of driving commercial vehicles on landfill
  • Good understanding of drivers hours regulations including POA and Working Time Directive.
  • Waste experience advantageous
Skills and knowledge:
  • Basic knowledge of English and Maths
  • Strong understanding of the North West road network
  • Flexible and willing to adapt to ensure efficient operations
  • Effective communicator (written and verbal)
