Job Description

We are recruiting a Core Qualified Clinical Team Leader to work within a Children and Young Peoples Mental Health Support Team in Lancashire. The service supports children, young people and their families focusing on early intervention and deliveredon a community and educational setting.The successful applicant will be working within a Children and Young People (CYP) Mental Health Support Team who have bases in Greater Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and West Lancashire.The service offers early intervention health and wellbeing services for children and young people using a wide range of creative and dynamic methods of engagement, including digital interventions, across community and educational settings.The service supports CYP and their families or carers providing extra capacity for Early Intervention support withing Schools and College settings within 3 core areas:

  • Providing evidence-based interventions for mild to moderate mental health and emotional wellbeing issues.
  • Support designated senior mental health leads in each setting.
  • Provide timely advice to school and college staff and parents as required.
  • The successful applicant will be operationally responsible for the Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Service across Leyland, and you will have a key role in ensuring the teams fulfil their core offer of services whilst providing advice, support anddirection to the team for children and young people with more complex needs or when safeguarding is a factor in the delivery of care.
  • The successful applicant will have significant experience in completing comprehensive mental health assessments including risk assessments where required.
  • The successful applicant will provide practice supervision and support within the MHST team, you will provide specialist care to the most complex children and young people and will act as the conduit between MHST and Specialist CAMHS to ensure that childrenand young people receive the most appropriate care and interventions.
  • You will provide support, advice and consultation to families/carers and other professionals involved in the life of the child/young person will also form part of the role.
Pay: £30ph+ (Ltd)Mileage: 45p per mile paid from base.Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00-17:00 Friday 09:00 - 14:00.Person Specification:
  • The successful applicant will hold a core professional qualification relevant to mental health, nursing with specialism in mental health, Occupational Therapy, Social Work which must be registered with the relevant governing body NMC, HCPC or Social WorkEngland.
  • The applicant must hold a broad range of knowledge and experience working therapeutically with children and young people providing psychological interventions.
  • Applicants must also have experience of managing staff and providing clinical supervision.
  • It would he highly desirable if you hold a post graduate qualification in supervision or equivalent experience in the delivery of clinical supervision.
  • The applicant must have excellent communication skills and be able to network with other agencies such as Local Authority, Clinical Commissioning Groups, Public Health England, Education Staff, School Nursing and CAMHS.
  • You must possess a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
