Job Description

We are urgently seeking an experienced and skilled Street Trading Licence Enforcement Officer to manage licensing street traders across Markets in Lewisham, Deptford and Catford, ensuring they are legally compliant for one of our local government clients based in Lewisham. The Street Trading Licensing Enforcement Officer will be expected to visit business premises to ensure they have a suitable waste disposal contract either with the Council or private company. They will be issuing and following up Section 34 Notices as well as issuing FPNs for various offences eg fly tipping, overproduction. Ideal candidates will demonstrate the following:

  • Significant experience of licensing enforcement activities eg issuing Fixed Penalty Notices
  • Experience of dealing with traders and/or public and settling disputes
  • Good knowledge of the London Local Authorities Act 1990 Part III as amended and relevant guidance.
  • Good knowledge of the Environmental Protection Act 1990
  • Practical knowledge of regulatory and enforcement activity
  • Sound experience of working within a customer facing role
