Job Description

At AB World Foods, we have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Cover Team Technician to join our Paste team at our well invested Pataks manufacturing site in Leigh.AB World Foods is an international branded food business, with approximately 800 employees across 8 locations, and as great as our brands are, our people and our culture are the reasons were so successful.The Role:We are currently recruiting for the role of Cover Team Technician in the Bottling Hall for day shifts. The job entails working a 6-2 / 2-10 rotating shift pattern and is a direct permanent position with AB World Foods.On Paste, we have 4 separate lines. The Cover Team Technician - Bottling Hall is responsible for operating key pieces of equipment on the line including a Filler, Capper, Labeller, Carton Erector, Shrink Wrap Tunnel and Palletiser. You will also be expected to jump across numerous different production lines as well as different pieces of kit. You will be carrying out product changeovers, regular quality and process control checks (including CCPs) and completing relevant paperwork. All tasks must be completed in a manner to achieve the safe, hygienic, efficient and best-cost manufacture of all designated products to the required quality, specification and quantity. Some accountabilities include:

  • Carrying out the required Safety, Quality and CCP checks on the Filler and other machines.
  • Completing all the required paperwork and records for various machines.
  • Developing a good understanding of OEE to monitor, record & improve line performance by reducing downtime and accurately recording information.
  • Developing a good understanding of yield to monitor & improve yield performance by reducing product give away while maintaining legal compliance with the three packers rule.
  • Carrying out the required cleaning of the machines and surrounding area to the required standards.
  • Escalating issues (mechanical/food hygiene/H&S) to the Team Leader.
  • Processing food ingredients to an agreed standard of quality and hygiene.
    • Skills & Experience:The key criteria for the role is a candidate will be able to learn a wide variety of job stations and understand/carry out CCP checks.
  • Food Production/Manufacturing or Clean room environment (desirable)

  • Fork Lift Truck or Electric Pedestrian Truck Experience/Licence (desirable)
