Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and passionate SENCo for a SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school located in Leigh. The school boaststwo sites, catering to primary and secondary students, and is committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for its students.Role Overview:As the SENCo you will play a pivotal role in the schools leadership team. You will be expected to work flexibly between the primary and secondary sites, taking on the responsibilities of a SENCo, with the support of an experience SENCo/Assistant Head.Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all SENCo duties, ensuring the provision of support and resources for students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to create and implement effective strategies for supporting SEN students in both primary and secondary settings.
  • Work closely with parents, external agencies, and stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for students with SEMH needs.
  • Contribute to the schools overall vision, mission, and values, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience in a SENCo role or a similar leadership position within a school
  • Strong understanding of SEMH needs and strategies to support students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality education and continuous improvement
  • Flexibility to work between primary and secondary sites
