Job Description

I am currently recruiting for a Technician on behalf of my client, a leading public sector organisation based in Leicestershire (LE9).You willprovide supply chain management and a compliant procurement service for Highways Delivery. Duties will include:

  • To hire, lease or purchase items of plant and/or materials required for the delivery of revenue and capital programmes of highway works.
  • To manage the stock, distribution and maintenance service history of owned plant items.
  • To carry out all purchasing for Highways Delivery ensuring compliance with theContract Procedure Rules
  • To maintain auditable reports of purchasing activities including “3 quotes” process.
  • To assist with contract & supplier management of LCC supply contracts
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Buying experience or contract management, not necessarily procurement based background.
  • Working in the highway maintenance, construction industry &/or a purchasing environment.
  • Working in an office environment using word processors, spreadsheets, databases and Microsoft Office Software suite
  • Working with financial systems (e.g. Oracle)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills
