Job Description

We have an exciting new role for a Stores Assistant to work Leicestershire Police at their Headquarters in Enderby.This is a temporary 12 month contract working Monday-Friday, 37.24 hours a week.Job Role/Purpose: This role is to assist with the supply of uniform and equipment for Officers, Staff and Volunteers. Also assisting with Post Room duties.Core Responsibilities/ Accountabilities

  • To provide advice and guidance in relation to uniform requirements for employees who have identified as Trans/non-binary and for employees who require additional support due to medical conditions, ensuring the confidentiality of those involved.
  • To assist with the storage, issue and recording of Incapacitant, using Inca, in compliance with the regulations for handling, storing and issuing Section 5 Firearms.
  • To assist with the daily running of picks for internal distribution and order placing.
  • To maintain the goods inwards function for Force Headquarters, notifying internal contacts of deliveries required for collection.
  • Maintain accurate records of both deliveries in and out.
  • Assist with the weekly NUMS hub deliveries, stock transfers and returns.
  • To provide a postal service to Force Headquarters, ensuring the receipt, distribution and dispatch of all internal and external mail.
  • To track and record post as necessary i.e. recorded / special delivery.
  • To keep accurate records regarding recorded / special deliveries.
Essential Criteria
  • To hold GCSE level C/4 or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics and / or to be able to demonstrate work experience using English and Mathematics to that standard.
  • To have experience of handling data, accurately inputting, filing, retrieving and searching for information on computer databases and manual paper based systems.
  • To have experience of dealing with customer/supplier enquiries in a busy environment.To have experience of working to strict deadlines in a pressurised environment whilst maintaining accuracy, attention to detail and prioritising the workloads managing their time efficiently and effectively.
  • To have experience communicating to all levels within the organisation and to external suppliers, account managers.To be physically fit enough to lift and transport heavy objects, with the assistance of equipment if required. Reasonable considered in light of Equality Act 2010.
