Job Description

The Senior Commercial Analyst will contribute to the development and improvement of a data led analytical strategy, adding value to a range of commercial activities including (but not limited to) revenue analysis, customer modelling, price optimisation gross margin optimisation and sales channel ROI.Responsible for building commercial data models and revenue forecasting suites the position also plays a key role in defining and shaping high stakes decision making and business planning. Additionally, the post holder will provide insight into competitor activity, verifying opportunities, commercial threats and customer behaviour to ensures product market offering is commercially viable.The successful candidate will manage & configure the system to deliver accurate revenue forecasts, budgets, weekly and daily projections and will analyse the progress of each.What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and embed an analysis system to drive and monitor revenue performance and support ongoing business planning.
  • Collaborates with commercial leads (finance | pricing | marketing) compiling and configuring MI to ensure system outputs deliver relevant insight
  • Ownership of competitor price data and modelling.
  • Support the production of competitive data to populate the Revenue Management System, working with 3rd party data suppliers to ensure data integrity and quality is of the highest standard
  • Creation of revenue reporting suites that deliver short and long term revenue forecasts
  • Develop and manage internal user rules, alerts and influences for the system, based on pricing requirements (sales volume, demand, channel)
  • Develop effective customer demand forecasting and capacity planning capability within the system
  • Develop analytical models to support predictive analytics (anticipated spend, demand, customer churn etc.)
  • Compiles information, analyses and monitors actual sales against projected sales
  • Configures the system to determine, implement and control price selling strategies
  • Demonstrates knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
  • Understands and meets the needs of key stakeholders (Pricing Managers, Finance Managers, Yield Manager)
    • Skills you’ll need
  • Degree qualified in a numerical or systems discipline (Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, Economics, Business Information Systems)
  • Proven and senior level experience managing Revenue Analysis teams and Systems within a fast-paced commercial environment
  • Systems and Data driven; experienced managing, manipulating and analysis data to drive revenue & pricing activity
  • Advanced MS Excel
  • Experience of working with leading analytical tools; from Power BI, SPSS, SAS, Qlikview, Tableau, R
  • Self-starter, inquisitive, team player
  • Logical thinker, excellent attention to detail, sense of humour
