Job Description

Job Title: Quality Engineer (Ref: 18605)Location: LeicesterThe Role:This is a new position to support the Quality Manager and other key business functions, reporting directly into the QM.

  • Supporting with the development and implementation of a QMS to ISO 9001:2015 standard
  • Creating build procedures, QA, FAT and Supplier FAI documents. On-time delivery of documentation
  • Supporting with the Supplier Approval process
  • Conducting containment, root cause analysis investigations (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys) and corrective actions on non-conformities.
  • Performing internal and supplier audits, including their planning and report writing
  • Demonstrating commercial awareness
  • Arranging and witnessing Supplier FAI and hold points for critical features
  • Providing support with inspection activities including goods inwards, monitoring of assembly and testing processes
  • Initiating and when required, leading continuous improvement activities identified by analysis of KPIs, investigations and other data
  • Control of the calibration process

  • Ability to grasp engineering concepts quickly in order to hit the ground running
  • Aptitude to work accurately under pressure, at a fast pace delivering multiple engineering projects at different stages
  • Self-motivated, highly organised with the ability to work unsupervised
  • Clear, concise and consistent communicator
  • Reliable, honest, open and transparent style
  • Commercial mind-set that understands the true meaning of customer service
  • Creative, adaptable to change, resilient, dynamic approach, with the ability to challenge the norm
  • Occasional travel, UK/International, full clean driving licence and passport required
    • Qualifications & Skills:
  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer or knowledge demonstrated through works experience
  • MRP systems exposure
  • Audit trained to ISO 9001:2015 or AS9100 D
  • Broad engineering background ideally gained through precision engineering, special purpose machinery, turnkey engineering solutions or bespoke engineering machinery
