Job Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with hands-on experience of purchasing and inventory control to join a small team in a friendly company that values its employees. With a varied remit, this position offers a wide spectrum of responsibilitiesthat include interfacing with external vendors and hauliers, as well as internal departments such as warehousing, customer service and counterparts in the German HQ.Client DetailsMy client are a leading Europe-wide, family owned farming, equestrian and pet supplies company with an excellent reputation and a strong presence within its markets. The product ranges comprise of over 12,000 items, encompassing farming, equestrian and petsupplies, with c. 2,000 products immediately available from UK stock. As part of its strategic growth plan, the business is expanding rapidly and is currently looking to recruit a Purchasing and Inventory Coordinator.Description

  • Reviewing purchase requirements for stock lines and components and placing purchase orders with the appropriate suppliers
  • Managing incoming deliveries, maintaining the Goods In calendar and ensuring all pre-advice documentation is received and accurate.
  • Updating item master with new products and ensuring that data for existing products is complete and accurate, including vendor, pricing, lead times, MOQs and order multiples.
  • Creating and distribution of the weekly inventory outlook report, including accurate due dates are reported and highlighting potential issues, causes and any possible mitigation. Attendance at the weekly inventory meeting to discuss the information provided.
Profile
  • Practical experience in a purchasing and inventory management role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
  • Experience of creating and maintaining Bills of Materials, alongside wider supply chain & importing experience.
  • Excellent grasp of all Microsoft Office products and able to work under own initiative.
  • Well organised and able to prioritise own workload, essential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and strong written and oral communication skills.
