Job Description

The RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our passionate and highly motivated East Leake Mine as the underground Mine Electrician. This exciting role will see you installing, inspecting, testing and maintaining electrical apparatus in conjunction with all the pertinent electrical regulations.What will you be doing in the roleIn the role as Mine Electrician you will;

  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to health and safety of yourself and others.
  • Install, inspect, test and maintenance of electrical apparatus in conjunction with all the pertinent electrical regulations.
  • Achieve a high level of electrical engineering and housekeeping.

Does this sound like youFor the Mine Electrician specifically it is important that you have:
  • Undertaken a recognised electrical apprenticeship and ideally having HNC or equivalent.
  • An analytical approach and able to problem solve and make safe decisions.
  • Been trained and competent with requirements of Electricity at Work Regulations.
  • Experience of participation in continuous improvement projects.
  • Experience of LV and HV systems and associated Permits to Work would be an advantage.
  • An understanding of PLC and SCADA control systems would be helpful.
  • A mining background would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of The Mine Regulations 2014,The 17th Edition Regulations and the Use of Electricity in Mines would be desirable.
