Job Description

LGV Class 1 DriverMeasham£115 Per DayDay Shifts (Flexible)We are currently looking for an LGV Class 1 driver to join our client based in Measham.Working for a successful food manufacturer you will be required to transport their products to various locations throughout the UK.Your deliveries will vary from a couple of drops a day up to 5/6 dependant on the delivery schedule for that day.This is a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving, reputable company.Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the loading of the vehicle so that products are safely loaded and secured to minimise chances of damage.
  • Checks goods off with customers and obtain signature and print.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Handles customer issues on delivery effectively and contacts Transport supervisor for assistance if required.
  • Carries out multi-drop deliveries in a timely and safe manner.
  • Drives the vehicle safely and in accordance with the law ensuring that accidents are kept to a minimum.
  • Drives within the tachograph law and driver hours limits.
  • Looks after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.
  • Reports any accidents as soon as possible and in compliance with the companys accident reporting procedure.
  • Completes vehicle daily inspection sheet or smart phone APP
  • Attends essential training in order to carry out the driver role.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, to include the Company Standards of Performance and Health and Safety Policy.
  • Loads and unloads of goods from vehicles.
  • Stacks empty pallets.
  • Records how many pallets delivered and retuned.
  • Coupling and uncoupling of trailers
    • Job Requirements:
  • LGV Class 1 licence with at least 24 months experience
  • Valid CPC card
  • Ensure at all times that the vehicle load is secured in line with BRC standards
  • Clean current license and a current drivers qualification card
  • Flexible to work long hours and weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Experience of multi-drop deliveries
  • Current forklift certificate (B1 Counterbalance)
  • Opening and closing of vehicle curtains
