Financial Accountant - £37,353 - £41,199Macildowie are delighted to be partnering with ESPO to appoint a Financial Accountant who knows their way around controls to lead the statutory financial reporting within the organisation. This role reports into the Head of Strategic Finance and althoughcurrently is standalone there will be opportunities to pick up line management, if wanted, in the near future.The successful candidate will be rewarded with a commercially-driven opportunity not only focussed around the statutory reporting side but also with an outward facing emphasis with business partnering and stakeholder engagement being a key area. They generate sales of approximately £90m per year, employ around 300staff and make an annual profit for its local authority owners which is reinvested back into local communities and services. Their two main revenue streams are through sales of their 25,000 products from their dedicated catalogue and website alongside their dedicated framework from which organisations can procure goods and services, enabling ESPO to claim a rebate.In addition, the organisation has recently established two businesses who supply into the private sector, offering further potential growth opportunities. Your duties and responsibilities will include;- Preparing monthly statements and reports through the collection and analysis of data- Contributing to process, system and operational improvements to drive commercial performance and profitability - Business partnering with budget holders across the business- Supporting the planning and preparation of reports as well as the completion of ESPOs financial statements - Delivery of the monthly close process, analysing transactions and preparing required journals- Treasury support as well as bank and balance sheet reconciliations Candidates should ideally be a qualified accountant (or exam qualified) with knowledge/experience in accounting under FRS102. You will need to be strong in financial control, as well as able to review and improve processes as this is an organisation wide priorityover the next couple years.
