An exciting opportunity has arisen at Leicestershire County Council to put your own stamp on Decarbonisation and Energy Management. You will be required to use your initiative to drive forward Leicestershires Energy Strategy to support the Councils NetZero Carbon targets. You will be responsible for managing a small team managing Utilities, managing saving projects and embarking on new programmes of work. Main Duties and Responsibilities To be responsible for the continual review of the Property EnergyStrategy for the Councils property estate and energy assets. This will include working collaboratively with Council Services including the Carbon Reduction Team, the Growth Unit and the Transformation Unit Manage a programme to generate renewable energyon Council Land including Quorn Solar Farm and a recently commissioned study investigating wind, solar and battery across 16 County Farm sites. Discover, Develop and Deliver a building decarbonisation plan at Council Properties and on Council land focusingparticularly on decarbonising heat and generating renewable energy generation. Act as the Strategic Lead for property related Energy and Decarbonisation matters, influencing key decisions made my working groups including, the Carbon Reduction Board, Waysof Working, EV Fleet Infrastructure, Corporate Asset Investment Fund (CAIF) and others as they emerge Skills and CompetenciesTo motivate and encourage individuals and team (s), manage performance, recognise achievements and create a climate of respect To understand all customer needs; plan, deliver, review and improve services, ensuring objectives are metTo focus on the diversity of service users, seeking out partnerships to improve service delivery whilst operating within a political framework KnowledgeOf the legal, national and international regulatory and policy environment and the commercial influences on energy pricing, management and upon environmental compliance Of key local government issues ExperienceOf the approaches, technologies and financialand commercial practices involved in energy management of commercial buildings, ideally in a local government or other public sector settingOf having successfully developed and implemented capital and revenue programmes and budgetsOf leading on continuousimprovement Of energy management and decarbonisation within a property setting Qualification Relevant Degree Demonstrable senior management experience of delivering in the areas of energy management and decarbonisation Management qualification ProfessionalBody QualificationThe roleKey accountabilitiesSkills & experienceOtherOther
