Job Description

Credit ControllerShepshed£23,000 - £25,000 DOEAn excellent opportunity is available to work for a well-established company. They are currently expanding due to sustained growth and are in search of an experienced and driven Credit Controller to join their dedicated and well-established team.Description of the role:

  • Manage day-to-day credit control processes for assigned customers.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers through telephone and email to follow up on outstanding debts.
  • Resolve inquiries related to the sales ledger and handle phone calls from customers.
  • Allocate and post customer payments from the bank statement daily.
  • Handle the allocation, posting, and banking of daily cheques received.
  • Prepare and post Direct Debit collection journal notifications on a weekly and monthly basis, processing them through the bank.
  • Generate and review monthly statements for customers.
  • Produce and share weekly reports on aged debtor accounts with sales account managers, providing additional support as needed.
  • Identify and escalate cases for referral to a debt collection agency and prepare necessary information while coordinating with involved parties.
  • Accept customer bank card payments as required.
  • Conduct credit checks on customers to recommend appropriate credit limits.
  • Set up customer accounts and ensure the relevant parties are informed of all necessary information.
  • Provide credit references to external parties when requested.
  • Offer coverage for other credit control colleagues during their absences as needed.
About you:
  • Previous experience within Credit Control
  • Ability to problem solve to resolve disputes/discrepancies.
  • Strong time management skills to manage multiple accounts.
  • Able to work as part of team.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
