Job Description

We are currently looking for a construction site manager. (to be based on a site in the Leicestershire area and then to work on other sites in and around the Midlands)Job Purpose:The Site Manager is responsible for delivering the project on a day to day basis on site to budget and in time. The role involves continually planning 7 days ahead in term of labour, material and plant requirements and, in conjunction with the Project Manager,making sure that the operatives working in their team are fully productive.Also responsible for managing projects in accordance with the clients values and for continuously seeking opportunities for improvement in processes, ways of working and productivity.Main Duties and Responsibilities: Uses project drawings, specifications, and programmes to plan labour and materials requirements and ensures these are sourced to resource the project efficiently Communicates technical and non-technical information with site labour, ensuring their understanding and buy-in to what needs to be done, so that they are able to work productively Checks that the work of others, eg the setting out of partitions, meets standards required Manages the hand over procedure on site Ensures the Quality Plan is followed and works are inspected at each stage and signed off Arranges with the Project Manager to get the manufacturers to inspect the works if required Ensures all plant is organised and in permanent use, and off hire immediately when not required Carries out site inductions, explains method statement and carries out short duration training Makes sure any person being put to work has a method statement covering the work and that this has been communicated to themQualifications, Experience & Capabilities:Must hold the following minimum qualifications or be working towards them: NVQ 3 in Supervision SMSTS certificate CSCS Managers (Black) card Face Fit Mask certificate First Aid certificate PASMA Certificate BluebeamExperience:o solid understanding of drylining and the White Book, and know how to get technical information from the White Book.o understanding all site drawings and sections, door schedules, details.o good working knowledge of the project including drawings, drawing register, specifications, programme and logistics plan and ability to interpret these; working understanding of how long elements of work should take.o awareness of contractual documents such as Non-Conformance Notices, Daywork Sheets, Site Instructions, and Handover / Tracking Documents.o up-to-date product developmento good working knowledge of Site Safety Procedureso good IT skills: Must be able to use Excel, write memos and send emails; able to use operations programmes such as ROGERThe role is Construction Site based, generally based on one site for a period of a few weeks to over twelve months. May be asked to cover other site from time to time with limited notice.
