Job Description

Conference & Seminar ManagerSouthwest Leicestershire £35,000 basic + £10,000 OTE

The Company:ER Recruitment are very excited to be working with our client based in Southwest Leicestershire, who are achieving exceptional year on year growth in their industry and are now looking for a Conference & Seminar Manager to fill a crucial role taking overallresponsibility for the department to grow the revenue upwards and co-ordinate nearly 300 events per year.Role & Responsibilities of the Conference & Seminar Manager:
  • To be responsible for the delivery of revenue targets generated for the Business Events and Seminars Team
  • To manage the team to deliver your strategy and Business Events programme for the financial year
  • To undertake a review of every element of the Business Events process and make recommendations in all areas
  • To review the invitation, the data and how we drive attendance to our Business Events and make recommendations to enhance the effectiveness from a cost, attendee and conversion perspective
  • To recruit, train and manage the Speakers who deliver the Seminars and continually review their performance
  • To provide support and training to the Events teams to enhance performance
  • To review the content of the Business Events and ensure they are engaging, educational, and ultimately drive sales opportunity and revenue
  • To regularly attend Business Events and make recommendations and trial new approaches and ideas based on your findings
  • Keeping up to date with industry knowledge and external event offerings ensuring we are remaining at the cutting edge of Business Events and Seminars
  • Work with Marketing, PR and external agencies to agree the strategy for maximising exposure and attendance to our Business Events
  • To work with the Field Sales Management Team to ensure they are managing the Events in the correct way and their follow up activity maximises sales opportunities
  • Writing and proof-reading any marketing copy and literature
  • Working with internal and external teams to produce quality event collateral that maximises response and really speaks to and engages with its target market
  • Maintain reliable and accurate management information on all seminars and events. Review this MI and make changes based on this to continually improve attendance rates and sales opportunities
  • Working effectively with the telesales Management team to ensure that all business opportunities and leads are followed up
  • To assist the Head of Digital Growth in reviewing and updating marketing and brand material and information for the company and to ensure that the brand image is maintained across all marketing channels.
  • To maximise the use of social media to drive awareness of Business Events & Seminars
  • To regular review tools and digital resources available to maximise Events & Seminars attendance to increase sales growth
  • To attend the quarterly sales conference and report and update on the performance of Business Events and deliver training and workshops when required
About You as the Conference & Seminar Manager:
  • An outstanding track record in managing and delivering business events and seminars
  • Able to motivate, lead and coach a team, with a real focus in driving results and constantly driving improvements
  • Exceptional organisational and planning skills
  • A commercially focussed person who enjoys delivering to targets and is happy working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong attention-to-detail, self-directed initiative, resourcefulness and drive for innovation
  • Effective, independent decision-making ability
  • Calm appearance under pressure
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
