A highly successful manufacturing company with sites in many parts of the World are currently looking for an experienced night shunter for a permanent position based in Rothley and working Monday to Friday each week. All shunting takes place in the yard but during quiet times the shunter will be expected to help out with forklift duties so a counterbalance forklift licence would be an advantage.Job Requirements:1). Class 1 licence with no more than 6 points for minor motoring offences 2). Valid CPC and DQC3). Experience of yard shunting (min 6 months)4). Good standard of written/spoken EnglishHours:Monday to Friday 2PM to 10PMDesireable Requirements:1). Counterbalance forklift licenceJob Spec:- Move and organise empty and full trailers within the site - Drop the empty trailers at the loading bay and swap once loaded - Conduct daily inspections of vehicles and report any damages or problems - Load trucks if required - Ensure all required work documentation is accurately completed - Operate trucks, forklift trucks and other material handling equipment- Maintain a high level of housekeeping around the yard - Ensure all health and safety rules and guidelines are adhered to- Maintain equipment used to guarantee the daily functioning of the operation - Carry out any other reasonable requests and support colleagues when required In relation to the specific number of shunts the person will be required to do, this depends completely on workload. Once all shunts have been carried out the person is to report to the Warehouse Team Leader/Supervisor and then may be asked to undertake FLT work also. The person will not be required to operate off of site, all shunts will take place in the Rothley site.
