Job Description

Our client, a local authority in Leicester City is looking for a supervising social workers to work within their Kinship Assessment Team!The team aim to provide evidence based connected persons assessments, that help to achieve permanence for children who are looked after by the Local Authority.Equipment to assist you in your role will be provided!Hybrid working options available!Responsibilities of the role:

  • You will be required to attend and participate in Team Meetings, Looked After Childrens Review meetings, Legal Planning Meetings.
  • To conduct home visits.
  • To complete high quality assessments of potential connected persons carers, for specific children who are looked after to enable the courts to make safe planning decisions.
  • On occasions a candidate may be required to complete Special Guardianship reports for court and provide supervision and support to foster carers.
  • To work within a Signs of Safety framework and develop this model within the team
  • To take account of a childs and her/his familys culture, racial and linguistic background, and religious persuasion in assessing potential connected persons
Requirements of the role:
  • Must have a Social Work Qualification
  • Must be registered with Social Work England
  • Must have a full driving licence
  • Must have knowledge of relevant legislations and policies
  • Must have relevant social work experience
