Buyer (Indirect)West LeicestershirePermanentOffice based with some flexThe OpportunityMy client is a global provider of supply chain solutions to a range of global customers. Required is an established Buyer to undertake responsibility for the Indirect Categories within their purchasing function, operating regionally within their EMEA areasincl UK.Youll be participating in the company-wide procurement process, which includes strategic sourcing, supplier and contract negotiation, project management, cost management, program compliance and supplier relationship management successfully managing the needsof the business in line with strategic pillars and cost saving enterprise within the network.The RoleYoull be undertaking the following responsibilities, being accountable for Industrial and Office Supplies, Workwear and Consumables. In addition, youll be supporting new business tenders. Collaborates cross functionally to participate in optimization projects in terms of cost, quality, service, and innovation and supports internal stakeholders for all procurement needs and ensures the demand from internal customers is satisfied. Provides purchasing implementation/transition support for all new facility start up or relocations. Identifies and drives cost reduction projects in managed commodities using a total cost of ownership (TCO)model. Creates and continually monitors strategic supplier performance by identifying efforts to improve on time delivery, competitive quoting, assurance of supply, responsiveness, quality, corporate responsibility, etc. via scorecard, and regularly scheduled meetings. Develops cost models and industry analyses to determine what cost of services and/or goods should cost versus supplier quotation. Monitors contract compliance with all agreements in assigned categories, analyzes SAP & Vendor reports, interprets data & reports out trends & idiosyncrasies. Tracks and understands category spend to make knowledge-based decisions using key data points. Identifies and executes company-wide cost savings opportunities which involves managing competitive bids and negotiating with suppliers. Efforts include but are not limited to researching internal stakeholders and supplier operations, engaging stakeholdersto support the opportunity, developing project management action plans, creating and distributing a Request for Proposal or Quotation, analyzing suppliers value propositions and presents results, negotiating terms and drafting contracts, planning and assistingwith implementation, delivering progress and financial reports and overseeing all data and intelligence derived from projects. Responsible for the creation and execution of procurement strategies for several EMEA categories to deliver value for the category and ensure supply through creation and execution of a risk management strategies. Identifies, supports, and delivers Continuous Cost Improvement opportunities for these categories as well as other projects to streamline the Procurement process. Leading selected projects for the whole primary category assigned. Identify and delivery continuous cost improvement opportunities within region as part of global enterprise strategy. Supplier performance against agreed objectives putting in place corrective actions. Overseeing all data and intelligence derived from projects,continuous improvement ideas to streamline the procurement process.The Candidate We are seeking to draw interest from established / semi established Buyers with experience within a Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Buying role, preferably in-direct procurement. Evidence of maturity, collaboration, and communication skills (written andverbal), strong interpersonal skills and influencing ability is a must. Youll demonstrate a strategic vision being capable of translating it into realistic projects, working with the customer in mind and managing stakeholders expectations appropriately inan efficient, results orientated manner. Youll be confident and change orientated, comfortable within a matrix management structure in a multinational environment. Highly competent in the use of Word, Excel, Power Point, presentation skills, analytical and SAP (or relatable ERP system). Were looking for a strong background and understanding of business management and contractual law, the ability to demonstrate familiarity with procurement systems and systems management, business analysis, strong communication and presentation skills (bothverbal and written), as well as reporting expertise. Your abilities to multitask with leadership, interpersonal and influencing skills will be clear to see. Fluency within French or German would be a bonus but not essential.The BenefitsSalary is to £38k pending experience, 27 days holiday, plus bank holidays. There is an element of flexibility with hybrid working, with scope to operate from a choice of locations in either Desford, Hinckley or Hemel Hempstead to be decided as to where youreside residentially.
