Job Description

My client is looking to add a high calibre data driven BI professional to high performing Commercial Analytics function. The successful candidate will support a fast-paced business area providing Management Information to drive effective business planningand performance analysis - the role provides a chance to be part of something worthwhile in growth area, giving exposure to cutting edge BI tools, methodology and strategy in a dynamic & supportive business environment.Offering a blend on data platform design & development and front-end BI report creation / delivery the position offers the opportunity to provide end-to-end BI solutions. The post holder will input into the exiting BI roadmap whilst being encouraged to suggest,deliver, and drive technical and process improvement to the BI team.Selection of responsibilities;

  • Collaborate with IT, Marketing & Digital teams to deliver BI improvements and new functionality, ensuring requirements are fully met and delivered to agreed timescales.
  • Coordinate and complete user acceptance testing on behalf of the business prior to deployment of changes to the BI capability.
  • Develop and maintain a robust BI roadmap, incorporating key commercial objectives, regularly updating with progress and priorities, and sharing with relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Support delivery of new BI functionality to all user groups through the delivery of training sessions and the provision of one-to-one support where required.
  • Work with the technology & BI team to create supporting knowledge documentation for reporting, incorporating both tech and commercial details and ensure processes are in place to identify production issues. Incident and problem management triage in conjunctionwith Digital & Commercial Platforms team to identify and resolve any operational issues Create, maintain, update, and distribute the required daily/weekly/monthly reports in current format, whilst building automated capability via leading BI & data visualisationtools.
About you;
  • Experience of using / analysing / interrogating and manipulating commercial data
  • Solid understanding of relational databases or relevant data platforms (SQL Server, Oracle, Amazon Quicksight)
  • Advanced MS Excel Knowledge & experience using SQL functions (essential)
  • Experienced developing data visualisation dashboards with associated tools e.g. Tableau, Birst, Power BI, QlikView)
  • Commitment to accuracy, a logical approach and attention to detail Willingness to learn, work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong academic background (graduate, min 2:1) in an analytical discipline or related (Business Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics Compute Science etc.) - preferred
  • Positive can do attitude
