DMU is at the forefront in recognising and delivering an environment that provides studentswith resources that support their development and studies, which will enable them to succeed and to achieve their potential.RoleThis post is part-time (21 hours/week) term time (37 weeks per year) and the salary shown will be pro-ratad accordingly.As Wellbeing Officer you will provide professional and impartial support to students individually and in group settings. You will help design and deliver our suite of #HealthyDMU Masterclasses, and other bespoke sessions alongside short -term therapeuticcounselling sessions. Our successful masterclasses are an opportunity for students to develop life skills such as managing pressure effectively and getting the most out of their confidence.The role will require you to act as part of our Single Point of Access (SPA) service, to assess student needs and work in collaboration with colleagues to ensure interventions are identified and referrals made as required.Ideal CandidateYou will hold a relevant professional qualification in counselling, or doctorate in clinical psychology (or related specialism). Your experience of working with young people and adults from diverse backgrounds will demonstrate your excellent ability to delivera flexible needs-led provision. Your advanced approach to risk assessment and management skills in relation to student wellbeing, especially in relation to mental health will ensure that the universitys principles on Health and Wellbeing are at the forefrontof the Student WelfareYou will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all members of the University community. You will share DMUs passion to provide outstanding and inclusive outcomes for all of its students.This role will require a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
