Job Description

Technical Support AdviserSalary:30KWorking hours:Monday to Friday 8.30am - 17.00pmLocation:LeicestershireThe companyBased in Leicestershire, we are a leading supplier of industrial products who are looking for a technical support adviser to join our technical team.What will I be doing as the Technical Support AdviserThe purpose of the position is to provide technical advice to our wide customer base. In a nutshell, you will be receiving inbound calls from people who are are having issues with the products that they have purchased from us. They might be struggling withtheir products as soon as they receive them, so it might just be that they have not set them up in the correct way. Others will call in as their product is still under warranty. It might not be running smoothly anymore or has just given up on them altogether.You will ask them to talk you through the issue on the phone. You will then troubleshoot, diagnose the fault and talk them though how to resolve the issue themselves. From there if they cant get it working, you will decide whether the customer needs a replacementproduct, or they need to send it back in to be repaired, or you will arrange for an engineer to go out to them.Daily Responsibilities of our technical service advisers:

  • Provide effective technical telephone support to Distributors and End Users
  • Provide effective technical support to all sales staffInternal and External
  • Process warranty returns to agreed procedures
  • Investigate and respond to Distributor and End User queries
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems
  • Take ownership of customer complaints and bring to satisfactory resolution
  • It would be an advantage if you are capable to carry out external repairs and servicing
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by Customer Service Manager
  • Carry out any other reasonable tasks as required
What we are looking for in our technical service advisers
  • The ideal candidate will have a background in technical support ideally in the engineering sector.
  • Compressor, Welding, Metal Cutting knowledge would be a huge advantage but not essential.
  • Customer Services experience preferred. This must include dealing directly with customers by phone or face to face.
  • Excellent telephone manner with the ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Good IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office / Windows
