Job Description

My Client design and manufacture high power electrical resistors used in electricity generation, transmission and distribution.Applications for our products include the neutral earthing of MV and HV systems, the dynamic braking of motors and industrial drives and the load testing of batteries and generators (LV and MV).We supply to large contractors, OEMs and end users throughout Europe, the Middle East, Asia and South America.Job Overview• An active sales role involving a high level of contact with both domestic and export customers.• Responsible for generating business for the company, this business will come from both existing (current) accounts and new business.• Contact with customers will be by telephone, social media, email and customer visits, for some export markets this could involve up to 2 weeks overseas travel at one time.• To ensure that the company delivers the highest levels of service to customers and that we are perceived as a quality organisation to deal with.• As a key customer interface the ability to identify potential new customers and markets and to support the organisation as it develops the products for these markets will be paramount.Responsibilities• Maximise sales and profit from existing customers.• Identify and develop new customers and markets.• Achieve order, profit and performance targets as agreed with the Sales Director.• Provide pre sales technical assistance to customers.• Developing long-term relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements.• Prepare and action a customer visiting programme to build awareness of the business and to promote the complete product range.• Ensure customer requirements are identified, understood and are communicated to all relevant departments.• Liaise with the internal sales department to support in the production of quotations.• Where relevant and applicable identify, recruit, motivate and support the distributors.• Ensure estimates and quotations are prepared in accordance with customers’ requirements and ensure these are followed up to win business.• Negotiating tender and contract terms and conditions to meet both client and company needs• When and if required, prepare quotations for customers, while providing technical expertise to turn the quote into a sale• Monitor market and competitor products and activity, identify strengths, weaknesses and potential opportunities.• Liaise with Technical and R & D personnel to ensure the products and services offered are most suited to our customers requirements.• Maintain up to date and accurate records of enquiries, quotations, orders and customer activity.• Monitor production costs ensuring that latest estimates are an accurate reflection of material costs and labour times.• Monitor and agree priorities with design and manufacturing to ensure customers’ requirements are satisfied.Location• Main place of work will be in Leicester • Travel both domestically and overseas will be required, overseas travel could be up to 2 weeks in duration.Targets• Agreed company sales and profit targets.• Monthly and yearly order intake targets.SkillsEssential:• Qualified (or experienced) in an Engineering related discipline ideally in electrical field• Experience in a similar role• Highly organised, strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills• Computer literate• Excellent interpersonal skills• A problem solver• Good commercial skills• Prepared to travel as required.Desirable:• Solid technical background• Understanding of contract terms & conditions and familiarity with export requirements.• Knowledge of electrical engineering Required skills
